Consecrated Life
Either Men or Women
Religious: Having a special consecration they are also meant to have a special relationship with the Lord, set apart in a particular community for the life and work to which He has called them. They live a life of devotion through the Evangelical Councils of Poverty, Chastity and Obedience. These are lived with Christ as their example. They are a revelation of everyone’s relationship with Jesus as the Bridegroom, and the future hope we hold in Heaven, where we “neither marry nor are given in marriage” (Mt. 22:30). Because of this special relationship with the Lord they also live a life of celibate love. They devote themselves to a particular charism and apostolate, depending on the community they enter. |
